I will tell you something that might sound strange coming from a chiropractor: sometimes an adjustment is not enough. I have delivered many thousands of them, I believe deeply in the work, and I have still watched cases where good adjusting alone could not hold the result. Understanding why changed how I practice, and it is the reason the Gravity Reset Method is part of this office.
Meet the Big 3
Your brain keeps your body oriented in space using three streams of input. The vestibular system in your inner ear senses motion and gravity, your visual system reports where you are relative to the world, and your somatosensory system, the position sensors in your joints and muscles, reports what your body is doing. Your brain blends all three, continuously, and uses the result to set your posture, your balance, and the tension in your muscles.
When the Big 3 stop agreeing
Here is the catch: those three streams can drift out of calibration with each other. Old injuries, long illnesses, years at a screen, or simply time can leave the brain receiving three slightly different answers to the question "where am I?" The brain does what any good engineer does with unreliable data: it hedges. Hedging looks like guarded posture, chronic muscle tension, unsteadiness, and compensation patterns that keep reloading the same sore spots. You can adjust the sore spot beautifully, and if the miscalibration upstream remains, the pattern rebuilds it.
Calibration over correction
The Gravity Reset Method is a clinical framework built around that insight. Instead of repeating the same corrective procedure every visit, it assesses how your three systems integrate, using simple, safe tests, and then applies structured neurological input aimed at sharpening that integration. It pairs naturally with Torque Release adjusting, because both work with the nervous system rather than around it: TRT releases the tension patterns the system is holding, and Gravity Reset works on the calibration that was producing them.
What this means for you as a patient
It means you get assessed as an individual, every visit, rather than run through a routine. Some visits that looks like adjusting alone. Some visits it includes balance and integration work. The findings decide. If you have been through rounds of care that helped but never quite held, this is the conversation worth having, and I am happy to have it with you in person. Think beyond the adjustment.
